There’s only 2.5 weeks until school is out! While I’m excited to spend some more time with the kids, I know I need to make it more productive than the last couple of Summers. If I don’t, I know they’ll conspire to drive me to the brink of a breakdown…and let’s just say it won’t be pretty.
I love to read, but my son…not so much. I think I’ve set a bad example because I don’t read books anymore. This Summer is going to be different! Now that I have 2 readers in the house, it’ll be easier to set some structured family reading time every day.
Summer Reading List
This Summer as Big K gets ready to enter 6th grade, I think he is mature enough to learn about the struggles of kids around the world. Kids, just like him, who have been persecuted and even lost their lives because of who they are.
It just so happens that I met with Big K’s teacher this week and learned that while he struggles with fiction books, he does well with non-fiction. PERFECT! I’m putting together a Summer reading list for Big K now and I’m going to pack it with stories about kids during WWII.
